4-30 The Month of May

1. May 8th- EVHS Choir Spring Concert.. Let's Go to the Movies..
6:30pm
Admission is free, Donations are appreciated..

2. May 8th - Spring Concert
Students need to be in their designated warm-up space at 5:45pm. 
Students need to wear their black choir t-shirt and blue jeans.
The concert will start promptly at 6:30pm.
This is a required event.

3. Seniors- Debt and Return outfits 
All Senior outfits must be returned to the choir office by Friday, May 10th.
All Senior debt must be paid. Please see Mrs. R with any questions.

4. May 17th - Graduation 
All Choir students are required to attend and perform at graduation.
Students are to be in the choir classroom no later than 5:15pm.  Cyclone Way will close promptly at 5:30pm.
Attire Requirements- "Sunday Best" We are representing the best of EVHS.
Girls- Dress clothes, no jeans
Dress pants or dress/skirt
Dresses must be no shorter than 1 inch above the knee. All cleavage, bra straps, and undergarments must be covered.  Dresses with spaghetti straps must have a cardigan covering the shoulders.
Dress shoes must be worn, dress sandals are ok, no flip flops.
If you have a question about your outfit, please see Mrs. R before graduation, not the day of.

Boys- Dress pants, no shorts
Polo shirt or button down shirt with a tie and dress shoes and socks
No flip flops

Students who fail to comply with the above dress code will receive an outfit grade of a "0" and will be given a choir uniform to perform in at graduation.

5. Student Outfit Return 
Students who are returning to choir next year- Mrs. R will need to check your dress bag and choir items for next year. Students who are moving into Troubadours will be fitted for a dress. Dress bags may be kept in the back dressing room during the summer.

Students who are not returning to choir- All outfit items owned by the choir and dress bag needs to be turned into the choir office by Friday, May 17th.

Student who fail to turn in items will be put on the student debt list.

6. Music Return 
All music needs to be returned to the choir library.

7. Choir Letters  (Due May 1st, I will take letter forms through Friday, May 3rd)


Choral Letter and Awards
1.Students must Maintain and “A” average for the year in choir
1.      Students must attend all required concerts and rehearsals , except in the case of an excused absence
2.      Students must have a minimum of 250 points accumulated by May 1st, 2017.  (50 points must be service points and 100 points must be performance points)

Service Points
10 points each hour- help with any activity in choir or with the Boosters (carwash, etc.)
5 points per item- brought to a bake sale
10 points each hour- helping teacher in the classroom, community concerns

Performance Points
10 points – for each major concert performed in
10 points- non choral performance (bring in program of performance and note from a parent, show at Riverside)
25 points-  district choir, ACDA, VMEA, ALL State for performing in these events
10 points- tryout for any choir competition
10 points- perform in festival

Other Points
 10 points- attending another school drama or choir production (must have signature of that director and the program for the show)
10 points- participation in choir fundraiser
10 points- parents attend Booster Meetings
10 points- all after school rehearsals
10 points- attending professional performances- bring program

Awards-
1st year- treble clef pin
2nd year- Letter
3rd year- lyre pin
4th year- star pin


****Students are required to keep a point logue and record of all points and programs.  Point sheets can be found in the choir room or online in the Forms section. 
8. Binder Donations 
The EVHS Choir Library is in need of 1inch and 2 inch binders. We will gladly accept gently used binders. This is for music storage. Please drop them by the choir office.

9. May 22nd at 6:30pm - EVHS Choral Booster Meeting- 
Calling All Choir Parents!
There will be an EVHS Choral Booster Meeting on Wednesday, May 22nd at 6:30pm in the EVHS Choir room. We will be planning next year.

10.Graduation Chords - Graduation chords are available for seniors who have been in the fine arts for all 4 years of high school The chords are $3. Please see Mrs. R for more details.

11. May 13th- 
All All State Choir students will be recognized at the school boards meeting. County Admin. Office, 302 N. Main Street (Use Rear Entrance) - this is not the School Board Office at 6pm
