Thank you to everyone who came out to audition. Congratulations to everyone who was cast in the show. Please check the Addams Family google classroom for more information on rehearsals this week.
ADDAMS Family Parent Meeting at 6pm on Feb. 1st
There will be a mandatory meeting for all parents of students who are involved in the spring musical Cinderella at 6pm on Feb. 1st in the 800s.
CATEGORY 5 Rehearsal Schedule and information:
Category 5 choir members are expected to continue rehearsing at home and need to attend these mandatory rehearsals. We will rehearse tomorrow till 4pm in the choir room.

All District Practices will take place on Monday, January 29th, 2024 from 2:30pm to 3pm and on February 5th from 2:30pm to 3:00pm.

*Please turn in your All District Commitment Forms. I have emailed those out to everyone and have paper copies in the choir room.
Feb. 9- Please arrive at school on time, check in with 1st block. We hope to leave at 8:10am. Please bring the following:
Music and folder
Packed lunch
Water bottle
Pencil
Snacks
Please wear your EVHS Fine Arts T-shirt.
Feb. 11th- Please meet at EVHS in the morning at 7:15 am. We will leave for Fluvanna County High School. Outfit (**SUBJECT TO CHANGE) You are to wear plain colored pants (jeans are fine) with no holes in them and your All District Choir t-shirt that you will receive at practice on Feb. 9th.

The concert is at 3pm at Fluvanna County High School in Fluvanna, VA. It is free to the public. Students may be signed out to ride home from the concert with their parents. Parents must sign students out with Mrs. R before leaving. Students who are riding the bus should arrive back to EVHS around 6pm. Students will be prompted to call parents when we are in Madison to let them know we are around 30 minutes from arriving. Parents, please be on time to pick up your student.
*All State Choir Auditions
Last Call- This is for students who made All District Choir. Students will have the opportunity to try out for All State Choir at the All District Event in February. NEW THIS YEAR– As of now, there is no paperwork to go with the All State Audition. Your all state payment is now past due, Tuesday, January 23rd is the last day I can take payment which is $10. Checks are to be made out to EVHS. Please see Mrs. R with any questions on this. All State tryouts will take place on Feb. 9th during All District Choir. The audition includes “Blow Blow Thou Winter Wind” and Sight Reading. Please see Mrs. R with any questions.

Students are expected to bring everything needed for their formal wear outfits.
Intro to Choir- Black from the waist down, white top, boys, button down shirt (tie optional), black dress shoes
2nd/3rd block- formal wear as stated in your syllabus
EVHS students need to arrive at 5pm, quickly get dressed, report to the warm-up rooms (PE rooms)

*World’s Finest Chocolate:
Choir students will have the opportunity to take part in the World’s Finest Chocolate Fundraiser. Parents must sign a permission form. Students will then sign out boxes and be responsible for selling all 60 bars in the box. Profit from the box will be placed in their charms accounts which may be used towards choir fees and field trips. Please email Mrs. R with any questions.
Lions Club Bland Contest
The Annual Lions Club Bland Contest will take place on Feb. 24th at 1pm at the Culpeper United Methodist Church at 1233 Oaklawn Dr. Students will need to prepare a composition to perform and compete for scholarships. Please see Mrs. R for an application.

*Choir students- Please turn in your choir contracts. They are now past due and must be filled out completely. You will not be able to participate in any choir field trips until these are turned in. Copies of the Choir contracts can be found on Google Classroom and Canvas.

*EVHS Choral Booster Membership:
EVHS Choral Booster Membership- Parents may sign up to volunteer with our Amazing EVHS Choral Boosters. You do not have to pay a fee to join choral boosters. This is a change from our first executive meeting in November 2021 and change to the bylaws. The following special memberships will stay in place.

Charms- Every student will be given a charms account. Charms may be accessed at www.charmsoffice.com. Our school code is EVHSChoir which is case sensitive. The direct link to charms is https://www.charmsoffice.com/charms/parents.asp?username=EVHSChoir. Students are able to see their choir financial accounts, sign forms, see uniform numbers, volunteer, purchase certain items and more.
This is how you log in to charms....
Log on to www.charmsoffice.com, and click “ENTER / LOG IN” in the upper right corner.
Locate the “PARENT/STUDENT/MEMBERS LOGIN” section of the web page.
Login to your student’s program account using the following School Code:

This will bring up the main “Public” page. This will allow you to look at the “public” calendar for your organization, event list, and handouts and other “publicly shared” files, as well as a few other options.
Whenever you enter using this Username/password, another more detailed screen appears, with various button options for you to access areas in the Charms account. What appears here is partially up to the Account Administrator or Head Director.
Two areas in which you can help the director/administrator maintain his/her records:
Update Personal Information – if the director has allowed it, you may help make changes to your and your child’s student information page (such as updating phone numbers / cell carriers and email addresses if they change) to help them communicate with you more effectively. You may also be able to indicate which parent volunteer/resource groups you would like to participate in, if this feature is activated. Click Update Info to save changes.
If your program has set up online credit card payments, you can make credit card payments for items in the online store.
The Calendar may list events, rehearsals, and volunteer/RSVP opportunities. Click on calendar, find the date of the event, click on the hand and sign up to donate items or volunteer.
Most importantly, the parent page assists both you and the teacher to communicate with each other. Stay up to date on what’s going on with your student!
You can also download the Charms App to your smartphone – search your App Store for “Charms Parent/Student Portal” (or “Charms Blue”). It’s the way to stay in touch on the go!
If you or your student is unable to access charms or forgets their password, please send Mrs. R an email and a new link will be sent to you.
