-Please bring in your choral contracts, outfit forms, and your $30 choir fee. T-shirts will be given out after your fee is turned in. Please do not forget to also bring in $13.50 for your bow tie.

* Choir Outfit and Forms
-Choir Forms and Fees are now overdue. Please turn them in to Mrs. R as soon as possible. Students will not be able to go on the Disney Field trip until all choir fees are paid.

-Artistic Choir and Women's AC- Please make sure you pay for your blue blouse that you need for your formal outfit. The blouse is $26. Payment is made out to EVHS Choral Boosters. Please bring payment ASAP to the choir room.
Artistic Choir and Women's Ac- You will be receiving your blue blouses this week.

-Show Choir- Your earrings are here. Please bring in $3 to purchase your earrings.

-All Disney paperwork needs to be turned in ASAP.

Disney Updated Statement ...Please Read.. 3-19-2020

Dear parents and guardians of Eastern View fine arts students,

In response to the rapidly evolving situation around the coronavirus (COVID-19), Eastern View High School and Culpeper High School have decided to cancel the Walt Disney World field trip originally scheduled for the end of this month. This decision was made in response to several factors including Walt Disney World closing its Florida parks through March 31, the risk of exposure to COVID-19 for a large group clustered together at an amusement park, the closing of businesses across the nation, the state emergency issued by Gov. Northam, the Federal recommendation barring gatherings of more than 10 people, and guidance from the school administration. While the decision is difficult, these uncertain times require thoughtful and decisive action for the health, safety, and well-being of our students, educators, and volunteers—this is our top priority. We are working with Four Seasons Tours, our travel company for this trip, to resolve all of the details of this cancellation including the matter of refunds. At this moment, we are unaware of what amount will be refunded due to potentially different refund policies of the various vendors booked for this trip. We will be communicating information to you and processing refunds as we get more updated information. All fundraising monies will go back into the Choir Boosters account for future use.

Disney Updated Statement, Please Read!!

Dear Eastern View parents and guardians,

We are writing to update you on the status of the fine arts field trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. As of right now, the trip is postponed to leave on the week of May 18th. We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate any additional or new information as we have it.

Disney Statement - PLEASE READ..

Dear Eastern View parents and guardians,

We are writing to update you on the status of the fine arts field trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida that is scheduled for March 25–30. We continue to monitor the development and spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact on our country and the community of Culpeper. As we follow updated information about the coronavirus from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Virginia Department of Health, the Eastern View fine arts department is working with our school leaders to evaluate the viability of this field trip and whether or not this trip will be able to proceed as planned. The safety and security of our students, staff, and our community is our number one priority. As we continue to monitor this situation, we are in contact with Four Seasons Tours about all our options as we move forward. As of right now, this trip is scheduled to proceed as originally planned. We will keep you posted on any additional or new information. The chaperone meeting previously scheduled for Thursday, March 12, at 6:30 p.m. is postponed until further notice.

* Monday- There will be Troubadour Rehearsal tomorrow till 4pm.

* Please bring in all candy boxes by the end of this week.

*Tuesday Morning- Men's Ac and Troubadours need to check in with first block and report to the choir room at 8:15am. Men's Ac, please wear your black pants, black button down shirt, and bring your bowtie if it is at home.

You will perform your pieces and then return back to class.

*Recruitment Fair

I need student, preferable juniors and seniors, to help at the recruitment fair on Tuesday, March 3rd. Please sign up in charms if you are able to help out.

* Festival Concert

The annual Festival Concert will take place at EVHS on Tuesday, March 10th at 6:30pm. Choir students will be performing their Choral Assessment pieces. Students will need to report to the Forum at 5:30pm. This concert includes the choirs from FTBMS too!

* All District Choral Assessment

Permission Slips will be sent home this week.

This event will take place at Orange County High School on Thursday, March 19th and Friday, March 20th. Certain EVHS Choirs will perform both days.

The EVHS Troubadour, Men’s A cappella, and Artistic Choir students have an amazing opportunity to perform at the All District 13 Choral Assessment on Thursday, March 19th and Friday, March 20, 2020 at Orange County High School in Orange, VA. All of the choir students have been rehearsing for this competition during class time and at after school rehearsal. Students are expected to practice singing at home daily. Men’s Ac and Troubadours will perform on Thursday and the Artistic Choir will perform on Friday.

On Thursday, Men’s Ac and Troubadours need to report to come to the choir room at 9:30 to get dressed. We will leave EVHS for Orange County High School at 10:15am. We should return to Orange by 2pm. On Friday, the Artistic Choir will report to the choir room at 8:30am. We will leave EVHS at 9am. We should return from Orange by 1:30pm. All students will need to pack a lunch or bring money to purchase lunch at a fast food location after we perform. All students will need to turn in a permission form and have a contract form on file in order to attend this trip. Students will need to wear the appropriate attire as listed below for this competition. Students who do not have the proper attire will not attend the field trip.

Troubadours- Girls- black floor length dresses, black dress shoes… Boys- Full tuxes, black socks, black dress shoes

Artistic- black dress bottoms (ankle length skirt or dress pants, no leggings) black dress shoes, blue blouse issued in choir

Men’s Ac -black pants, black button-down shirt, provided tie, black socks, black dress shoes

To be clear... The $50 deposit is non refundable. The contract and the parent letter states " Cancellation of this tour by February 25th, will result in a $100 fee per student . " Please take note of Four Seasons' policy. Please see Mrs. R if you have any questions.

Final details for Disney will be coming out soon.

Congratulations to those who made All State Choir! This event will take place on April 23rd -25th at the Greater Richmond Convention Center in Richmond, VA. While at All State, students will be staying at the Richmond Marriott. We will leave Eastern View High School on April 23rd at 8:00am. We will stop for lunch on the way to the Richmond Convention Center and students will start rehearsal at 1:30pm. Students will need to bring money to purchase a lunch. Once at the Convention Center and in rehearsals students will walk back to the Richmond Marriott.

A general information sheet has been provided for you by the All Virginia Chorus committee. This sheet lists details of music, conductor, expectation, and concert attire. Please read the information sheet and ask Mrs. Richtarski any questions. The link to the practice tracks are on your google classroom. Please make sure that you know all of your music beforehand. There will be a note check during the 1st rehearsal.

The final concert will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center at 11:00am and 11:45am. If you plan to pick your student up from the concert, please let Mrs. Richtarski know in advance and make sure that you sign your child out at the event with Mrs. Richtarski. Students who are not picked up at the concert will travel home with Mrs. Richtarski. We will stop for dinner and students need to bring money to purchase a meal. Students will need to be picked up at Eastern View High School on Saturday evening. Your student will call you when we are thirty minutes from Culpeper, Virginia.

****-Due to a date conflict, the March Concert date has changed from Thursday, March 12th to Tuesday, March 10th at 6:30pm. All Choirs will be performing at this concert except Show Choir. Students will need to wear their concert outfits. Students will need to report to the forum at 5:30pm.
