JMU info...

Dear Parents,

The Eastern View High School Choirs have an opportunity to visit the James Madison University Campus on October 24th, 2013.  During this visit students will be informed on the college admission process, expectations, campus life, etc.  Students will be given a tour of JMU, including the brand new performing arts building. It is never too early for students to visit colleges.

On October 24th students will need to check in with their first block teachers and report to the choir room.  We will leave EVHS at 8:30am and proceed to James Madison University.  Students will sit in an informational session and tour JMU and return to EVHS around 1:30pm.  Students will eat at the famous D-hall.  Students may bring money with them for a possible stop at the campus bookstore if time permits.  Due to transportation there is a small window of time for the choir to take this tour. Dress code for this trip is the same as the EVHS dress code.  While there are no plans to stop on the way to or from our destination, the bus could stop if an emergency or student need occurs.

Students will need to pay a fee of $18 for this event.  This fee will include transportation and money for lunch at the famous D-hall.  All money and permission slips are due to Mrs. R by Friday, October 18th.  As always, students may use money from their accounts to pay the trip fee.  All Choir fees must be paid in order for students to attend this field trip. Checks need to be made out to Eastern View High School Choral Boosters.

Chaperones- I will need at least four chaperones for this trip. All chaperones must be approved by the Culpeper School Board.  If you are not on the approved list and are interested in chaperoning, please email me for a form.  Please email me at trichtar@culpeperschools.org if you are interested in chaperoning this event.

Please email me if you have any more questions.

Go Cyclones,

Fundraising and events letter sent home with students...today

Dear Parents,

The Eastern View High School Choir has a lot going on in October.  Please try to check the blog at least once a week for choir updates.  The Blog is at www.evhschoir.blogspot.com.  I am also sending out choir e-mails at least once a week.  If you are not on the choir email list please email me at trichtar@culpeperschools.org.  The third way I am trying to keep parents informed is through a texting service called remind 101.com.  This service allows me to send out short reminders for you.  If you would like to be a part of this please text @innovatsho to 540-827-4671.  As always you can contact me at 540-825-0621 ext. 2335 o tichtar@culpeperschools.org.  The following is happening in October:

1.       Forms- The EVHS choir requires three forms from every student. They are the contract, medical, and photo form.  These forms can be found on the choir blog listed above or in the choir classroom.  Please help us get 100% of these forms in. All forms must be turned in before students can take part in extra choir activities.

2.       Student Fees- These fees help us run the choir.  The fee for Women’s Ac and Intro to Choir is $45, which includes a t-shirt.  Please contact the choir director if you need help with these fees.  Show Choir- All fees are due October 7th.  All student fees must be paid before students take part in extra choir activities such as  audition, tryouts ,field trips,  etc.

3.       Fundraising- The Choir is fundraising to help students pay their fees and help the choir get much needed platform choir risers.  These risers will be used by all choirs.  The cost of these risers is $7000.  We have raised over $1000 towards these risers.  These risers are needed to host competitions, practice, etc.  Students will have opportunities this month to help pay for their choir fees, tryout fees, and field trip fees.

4.       Parent Involvement- We need parent involvement in order for the choir to work.  Emails, postings on the blog, and text will be sent out.  If parents and students give a little time , a lot can be accomplished!!!

Information is on the blog.  The due date for this packet has been extended till Monday, October 14th.  The state just came out with a new All District Commitment form.  This form has already gone home with students.  A link to this form will be placed on the blog.
