Week 26 (March 7-11)

 *There is no after school rehearsal for choir this week.

*Registration opens on Monday, March 7th. Please be advised that your recommendations for choir next year have been put in. Please email Mrs. R  with any questions or concerns you may have. 

Here is an explanation of the numbers and courses: 

Troubadours (1 credit) - 98012- Adv.Mixed/Treble Choir 

Troubadours (2 credits) 980FY- Adv. Mixed/ Treble Choir 

Womens A cappella- 929710 Womens A cappella

Mens A cappella- 929711 Mens A cappella

Show Choir (same class as Musical Theater)- 929712 Show Choir  (Innovation) 1 credit 

Artistic Choir- 928912 Mixed/ Treble Choir (Artistic) 


*Choir fees are now past due. There is a $20 choir fee for this school year. Please pay this as soon as possible. Checks are made payable to EVHS. 


*Candy Bar Boxes- If you still have these out, please bring them back to the choir room by Friday of this week, March 11th. 


*Passports are due by March 11th. 


*March 7th- AM- Troubadours, please report to the choir room at 8:45am. We will perform Soon Ah Will Be Done for the 8th grade visit. 


**March 7th- Curriculum Fair- Students who are members of the EVHS Executive Board and Volunteers will help explain choir activities to upcoming EVHS Freshmen for next year. Students need to wear their choir t-shirt and meet Mrs. R in the cafeteria at 6:30pm. Students, please sign up below if you are attending this event. The event should end around 8pm.

*March 10th- Pyramid Concert - EVHS, FTBMS, and PSES 

Students need to arrive at EVHS at 5pm and meet in the forum. Students will need to wear their formal choir attire. Intro to Choir will need black pants, black shoes and socks, and a white shirt. We will need parent volunteers for this event. Please sign up on this link if you are able to volunteer.

*March 18th- All District Choral Assessment 


The EVHS  Troubadour, Men’s A cappella, and Artistic Choir students have an amazing opportunity to perform at the All District 13 Choral Assessment on Friday, March 18th  at Orange County High School in Orange, VA.  All of the choir students have been rehearsing for this competition during class time and at after school rehearsal.  Students are expected to practice singing at home daily.  In order to participate in Assessment, students must pass four tests, with a grade of a B “80%” or above,  given in class and or online  to show their knowledge of the music before performing in front of judges. The tests are due to be completed by Friday, March 11th., 2022. 

On Friday, participating choir students will need to check in with their first block and report to  the choir room at 8:00am to get dressed. We will leave EVHS for Orange County High School at 8:30am. We should return to Orange by 1:30pm.. All students will need to pack a lunch or bring money to purchase lunch at a fast food location after we perform. All students will need to turn in a permission form and have registered with the nurse at the beginning of the school year.  Students will need to wear the appropriate attire as listed below for this competition. Students who do not have the proper attire will not attend the field trip.

All Choir members- Girls- black floor length dresses, black dress shoes… Boys- Full tuxes, black socks, black dress shoes, white button down shirt  

 While there are no plans to stop other than stated above on the way to or from our destination, the bus could stop if an emergency or student need occurs. 

Chaperones- We will need at least four chaperones for this trip. All chaperones must be approved by the Culpeper School Board.  New potential volunteers will need to visit http://www.culpeperschools.org and click on the link for App Garden – Volunteer Tracker located on the Find It Fast section of our home page to fill out an electronic volunteer application.
 
A background check as well as a DSS Central Registry background check is required. The background check costs $37.00 and the DSS Central Registry check costs $10.00,both are payable via cash or check to CCPS.

*March 18th- Kings Dominion Forms are due - We are taking names for a waiting list now. 

The first 50 students who turn in their form and pay will be guaranteed a seat on this field trip. 

Students who turn in their form after the first 50 will be put on a waiting list. Forms can be found in the choir room, on google classroom, and on canvas. 

*April 7-9- Musical Newsies 

*April 21-23- All State Choir 

*May 13th- Kings Dominion 

*May 18th- Spring Concert 

*Mary 27th- Graduation
