Mary Kay Hand Cream Sale

The Choral Boosters are selling Mary Kay Hand Lotion and Shaving Cream for $10 each.  Students were given an order form last week.  All orders are due to the choir office on Dec. 3rd.  Please email me with any questions.
A portion of the proceeds will go in the student's account.

Donations needed for candy and soda closet

The Choir is in need of items to put in the candy and soda closet.  Proceeds from the items donated will go directly in students accounts. This is a great way to pay for Show Choir fees.
Martins has sodas on sale (6 pack bottle pepsi and canada dry)  5 six packs for $10.
Students will receive a dollar in their account for every bottle they bring in.
Other items we will take include:
Pop Tarts
Rice Krispie Treats
Snack Size Chips

Info for December Field Trips


Holiday Concert Season Field Trips

Dear Parents or Guardians,

All EVHS Choir students have an amazing opportunity to perform for many schools and community organizations this December.  All of the choir students have been rehearsing for these concerts during class time and at after school rehearsals.  Students are expected to practice singing and dances (Show Choirs) at home daily.  Students who do not know their music and dances will not be able to attend the following trips. 

Please note that each trip is different and may not include every group of choral students.   Please only fill out the forms for the trips that apply to your student on the permission slip.  All students will need to turn in a permission form and have a medical and contract form on file in order to attend these field trips. Students will need to wear the appropriate attire as listed below for all the following field trips.

Dec. 10th- Show Choir Beginning - Performance for the School Board

Students will need to meet at the Town Government Building (Old Post Office) downtown at 302 N. Main Street (at the corner of Main and West Spencer Street)  at 6:30pm.   This concert will begin at 7pm and last around 10 to 15 minutes. Students will need to be picked up right after the concert.

Dress:  Girls- Blue Sparkle, Tights, Tan Character Shoes, Blue Bloomer

Boys- Tuxes, Black Shoes, Black Socks

 

Dec. 12th- Show Choir Beginning - Culpeper Christian Women’s Club

Students will need to meet in the choir room at 9:15am to get dressed.  The performance will take place at Best Western in Culpeper a little after 10am.  We are planning to stop at McDonald’s after this performance, please send money for this.  We hope to be back at the school around 11:30am.  While they are no plans to stop on the way to or from our destination, the bus could stop if an emergency or student need occurs.   Dress:  Girls- Blue Sparkle, Tights, Tan Character Shoes, Blue Bloomer

Boys- Tuxes, Black Shoes, Black Socks

 

Dec. 17th- Farmington Elementary School and Heritage Child Development Center – All Choirs

Students will check in with first block teachers for attendance and then proceed to the choir room where they will get dressed for the performance.  All students must be ready to depart the high school by 8:20am.  Each choir will have their own bus.  We will perform at Farmington at 9am and then proceed to Heritage Child Development Center around 10:15am.  We will return to school around 11:15am.  While they are no plans to stop on the way to or from our destination, the bus could stop if an emergency or student need occurs.  

Dress - Show Choir Beginning - Dress:  Girls - Blue Sparkle, Tights, Tan Character Shoes, Blue Bloomer

Boys- Tuxes, Black Shoes, Black Socks

Show Choir Advanced - Dress: Girls - Black or Purple Dress, Silver Shoes or Tan Shoes, Tights, Silver Bloomer

Boys- Gray Suit or Black Pants, White Shirt, Purple Tie, Black Dress Shoes, Black Socks

Beginning /Advanced Choir - Dress:  Girls – Black Dress, Tights, Black Shoes

Boys - Tuxedo, Black Shoes, Black Socks

 

Dec. 18th- Hospital Visit - Show Choir Beginning

Students will meet in the choir room during normal class time.  We should arrive at the hospital at 1:45.  We will return to the school by 2:45pm.  While they are no plans to stop on the way to or from our destination, the bus could stop if an emergency or student need occurs.  Dress:  Boys and Girls- Jeans, Holiday Colored Shirt, Santa Hats

December 20th-  Pearl Sample Elementary and A. G. Richarson Elementary

Students will check in with first block teachers for attendance and then proceed to the choir room where they will get dressed for performance.  All Students must be ready to depart the high school by 8:20am.  Each choir will have their own bus.  We will perform at Pearl Sample at 9am and then proceed to McDonalds to eat lunch.  After McDonalds we will proceed to AG Richardson Elementary.  We will return to EVHS by 2:45pm.  While they are no plans to stop on the way to or from our destination, the bus could stop if an emergency or student need occurs.

Chaperones- I will need at least three chaperones for every trip listed except the Show Choir Beginning trips.  All chaperones must be approved by the Culpeper School Board.  If you are not on the approved list and are interested in chaperoning, please email me for a form.  Please email me at trichtar@culpeperschools.org if you are interested chaperoning these events.

We will be holding our Poinsettia Sale November 27th – December 6th, 2012. Money raised will benefit our choral department. Orders will be ready for pick-up following the conclusion our Winter Concert December 13th, 2012. Our Winter Concert will be held from

Winter Concert Flower Pre-Sale - Due Dec. 10th

Winter Concert

December 13th, 2012

 

Dear Parents,

            Our first concert of the school year is coming up. We have two fundraising efforts that correlate with our Winter Concert. First will be our Poinsettia sale. Forms will be going home after Thanksgiving break. Students will be credited 35% of total sales to their accounts. Flowers will be ready for pickup after the conclusion of our concert on the 13th. Second is our flower sale. We are offering parents the opportunity to order a bunch of 3 Roses to give their child after the concert. The flowers will have to be paid for in advance and can be picked up before the start of the concert at the concession stand. Thirty-five percent of the money raised from the sale of flowers will go toward our performance risers. If you are interested in ordering flowers please fill out the order form below and return to school before December 10th, 2012.  (This has been extended.)

All District Choir

Congratulations to everyone who tried out for All District Choir.  Thanks to Rachel Celesky and Bev Brooks for being awesome chaperones!!! Thanks to the parents who got their teens out of bed so early!!!

Announcements - Show Choir Rehearsal

Advanced Show Choir will continue to have after school rehearsal on Wednesday's till 4:30pm unless otherwise noted. This is mandatory and a grade. Students who cannot attend this rehearsal will need to turn in a reason for absence form to be excused. Students are expected to be in show choir rehearsal the entire time. Students who leave for periods of time will have their grade deducted. Thanks for your support in this matter.

National Honors Choir

Congratulations to Morgan Anderson for being selected to participate in the American Choral Directors' High School National Honors Choir!!!

Congratulations to Morgan Brown for being selected to participate in the American Choral Directors' Junior High School Honors Choir!!!

Both choirs will rehearse and perform in Dallas, TX in March 2013.

All District Forms- Please turn them in if you have not done that yet. The link is on the blog.


Candy Sales- All left over candy need to be turned in by Wednesday. Please turn in either money or candy.


Yankee Candle- The Yankee Candle is scheduled to be delivered next week. Please be ready to pick your child up from school for bigger orders. Thanks to everyone who participated in this sale.


Outfit Fees- Please turn these in ASAP. Outfits need to be ordered in the next week to be here in time for Holiday Performances.


Parent Teacher Conferences- 12-7 on Monday 11-5. I look forward to talking with all parents. Please call the guidance office to make an appointment. The School number is 540-825-0621.


Contract/Medical Forms- I am still missing many contract and medical forms. Please see the blog under August postings to print these forms. Please fill them out and return them to the choral office. Students who do not have a contract or medical form on file will not be able to attend any field trips.


Fundraising Meeting- We are asking all Show Choir parents to attend on November 14th from 6pm to 8pm. Please email me if you are unable to attend. All Parents are Welcome!!!


All District Choir Auditions- All students need to be at Eastern View High School at 6:45am. We start auditioning at 8am. We hope to be back at Eastern View around 10:30am. Students are reminded that they need to turn in all district paperwork and contract and medical forms to Mrs. R before they are allowed to attend the field trip.
