* Choir Volunteers - All current school volunteers, as well as any new potential volunteers, will need to visit http://www.culpeperschools.org and click on the link for App Garden – Volunteer Tracker located on the Find It Fast section of our home page to fill out our new electronic volunteer application.

All new volunteers will need to complete a background check as well as a DSS Central Registry background check. The background check costs $37.00 and the DSS Central Registry check costs $10.00. Both are payable via cash or check.

All currently approved volunteers MUST complete the online application no later than February 1, 2016 to remain an active volunteer. There is no cost to do this.

*All District Choir - Congrats to the students who were selected to participate in All District Choir. Please let Mrs. R know if you are going to participate in All District Choir held at CCHS on Feb. 12th and 13th next Tuesday. Information will go home next week. The cost for the event is $35.

The UVA Silhouettes will be performing too.  The cost for admission is $3 at the door.  All choir students will be given a free ticket and will be required to attend the concert.  Students who cannot attend will need to turn in a reason of absence form to the choir mailbox. 

*The Musical Cast will be having their individual head shots taken on Monday, October 19th after school till 4:30pm in the auditorium.  Cost for head shots is $10 a person.  

*Intro to Choir will be having their group photos on Tuesday, October 20th in the Auditiorium. Group and Individual photos will be taken by award winning photographer Elizabeth Bailey.  You may order a group photo online after the photos are taken.  Information will be sent home with students. 

* The Little Caesar's orders will be here on Wednesday, October 21st, and will need to be picked up on that day, NO EXCEPTIONS by 4:30pm.  Please e-mail Mrs. R with any questions... 

*The Annual Popcornopolis Fundraiser has been moved back into the end of October.. Details to follow... 

* The date for the JMU trip has changed to Thursday, October 22nd. 

*The Football Game against Culpeper has been changed to Tonight! Weather permitting.

* Parents who want to volunteer on Choir field trips this year will need to fill out a parent volunteer form and go to central office to be fingerprinted.  The cost is $37 and is a one time fee.  Please email me if you need a form.  trichtar@culpeperschools.org

*Parents who want to make a decorate a wreath for out upcoming wreath auction need to fill out a form and turn it into the choir room by November 1st. The form can be found on the EVHS Choir webpage.  

Christmas Wreath Decoration and Sale…

We need creative and crafty parents and students to help decorate Christmas wreaths for our upcoming Holiday Musical and concert.   The choir has obtained green wreaths that need a lot of love.  Once the wreaths are decorated the choir will put them up for silent auction at our winter concert on December 4^th and 5^th during the musical “It’s a Wonderful Life”.   The wreaths can be decorated in fun themes, colors, etc… (example football, pink, wonderland, etc.!)

If interested, please fill out the form below and we will send a wreath home with your student.  Please send in form by Friday, Nov. 1st.  The wreaths need to be turned back into the choir room by Monday, Nov. 30th. All proceeds will benefit the EVHS Choir!!

Car Wash Canceled

The Car wash at Tractor Supply from 9-2 has been canceled.

Men's Ac note

Men’s Ac   9-18-15

The A cappella Concert for the Fall will be held on Tuesday, October 27^th at CCHS at 7pm.  At our meeting last Thursday, we have decided to try to get “Rude” together for the concert. 

I have enclosed the music in this packet. You can practice your part two ways at home…

1.       Go to http://trichtar.wix.com/evhs-choral Click on Assignment, click on Men’s Ac, click on Noteflight. You must create an account, which is free.  Search for “Rude”, there are several, make sure you find the right one.  Once you have the arrangement up Click on play to hear it.

Then to just practice your voice part click on the bass clef of your line.  The program will only play your voice part.

2.       Go directly to www.noteflight.com and follow directions above. 

The other music is “Blow Blow thou Winter Wind”.  This is the audition piece for All District Choir this year that will take place on November 13 and 14 in Fluvanna.  Please consider trying out for this choir.  The event will be held in February at CCHS.  To practice go to the above website, click on Assignments, click on All Virginia.  You will see recordings and music posted.  Do not worry if you received the wrong voice part for music. 

We will meet on the following schedule at 7:25am:

Tuesday, Sept. 22^nd- Tenors only

Thursday, Sept. 24^th- Bass only

I will send out more dates later.

**Show Choir-
Reminder that your fee of $260 is due by September 1st.  Outfit fees and order forms will come out on the first day of school.

Car Washes have now been scheduled to help with fundraising,
Thanks to Laura Nicholson for scheduling these events.  The car washes will take place at Tractor Supply from 9 to 2.
The dates are August 22nd, September 26th, and October 3rd. We need parent and student to volunteer.

IMPORTANT Graduation NEWS !!!

...Important..

This is a change... 

Choir students are advised to be parked in the EVHS parking lot before 5pm for Friday night.  When the parking lots are full at EVHS, Cyclone Way will close.  

Choir students need to be in the choir room by 5:30pm. The Graduation Ceremony is at 7pm.

Students need to wear school appropriate Sunday best clothing in preferably spring colors.  Students who wear inappropriate clothing will have to change into a choir outfit. Please see Mrs. R with any questions!

Spring Concert Outfit

Students need to wear a plain black shirt and school appropriate jean or khaki shorts for the Spring Concert on May 28th, 2015.

The blog has been updated with a link to the choir You Tube Page.  All students in all classes are encouraged to practice their choreography this weekend for Cinemania.  There are videos on the You Tube Page.

Men's Ac needs to practice I'm yours and Pompeii.

Don't forget that on Monday at 7pm the Men's Ac and Artistic Choir will be recognized for their superior at festival at the school board meeting here at EVHS in the forum.

The EVHS Booster meeting will take place on May 12th at 6:30pm in the choir room.  There will be a meeting for show choir students after the booster meeting.

Shawn's BBQ spirit night!!

There will be a spirit night for all choir members at Shawn's Barbecue from 5- 8pm on Thursday, May 21st. Come out and eat!

Booster Meeting and Show Choir Meeting May 12th

There will be an EVHS Choral Booster meeting at 6:30pm at EVHS and a Show Choir meeting following at 7pm. Please attend.

May 11th School Board Artistic and Men's AC

Artistic Choir and Men's Ac will be recognized at the school Board meeting on Monday night here at EVHS at 7pm. Members are asked to attend if possible to receive the award.

Congratulations to the EVHS Show Choir Innovation for two days of great performances!! You guys Rocked!!! 

Thanks to all the parents who helped on Thursday and Friday.  You were so awesome!

Announcements for week of May 4th

Please read the following announcements.  There are requests for parental help below (Dates are in Red).  If you can volunteer or help/donate any of the following items, please email Mrs. R at trichtar@culpeperschools.org .

(All Chaperons must have a form on file and be fingerprinted in order to attend field trips. Cost is $37.  This is a one time fee that is good forever. Please see Mrs. R with any questions.) 

·         Now- All Contract, Medical, Photo forms are now due

·         State Theatre Concert- There is still time to order a State Theatre Video of the concert on May 31^st.  Cost is $20.  Please bring order to the choir room. The video is great!!

·         There are still seats left for Kings Dominion.  Please bring in forms and payment ASAP.  

·         May 1- Mrs. R needs senior baby pictures for the spring concert.  Please bring in or email Mrs. R a picture by Friday, May 1^st.

·         May 12^th- There will be a meeting for all students and parents who will be participating in Show Choir for the 2015-2016 season on Tuesday, May 5^th at 6:30 pm in the EVHS Choir Room.

·         May 12^th- Booster Meeting- We will be electing officers. AT EVHS at 7pm.

·         May 15^th -Chaperones needed:

1.       Kings Dominion- May 15^th- $35 for parents without season passes

·         May 1^st- I need four parents to come and help with the Show Choir independent judging event at CCHS on Friday, May 1^st.  The show Choir will perform in front of judges.  I need parents to help with set and costumes. Please email me if you are able to participate.

·         May 1- Seniors who would like to apply for a Fine Arts Chord for Graduation, please see Mrs. R for an application.  Applications and $3.50 is due to Mrs. R on May 1^st.
