Pictures days!!

Pictures for Students

Formal Group and Individual Pictures for Artistic Choir and Men's A cappella will take place on Tuesday, May 8th.
Artistic Choir needs to have their formal black dresses, hose, and shoes.  Men's A cappella needs their black pants, and red shirts, and BLACK Shoes.

Concert Dress (Costumes for concert) pictures will be taken for Artistic, Show, and Men's A cappella on Wednesday, May 9th.  All students must have their concert outfits as listed in the previous posting.

Students will be bringing home a picture order form.  All pictures must be prepaid..

May 1^st- All point logues and award applications are due.

May 8^th- Final Booster meeting for the year at EVHS in the choir room. Executive will meet at 6:45 pm and the General will meet at 7:00pm. We will be electing officers.  Show Choir meeting will take place at 7:30pm.

The week of the spring concert--Due to AP testing, we had to move our picture day - All Outfits for Spring Concert need to be in the choir room ready for performance (see below). We will be taking Spring Concert photos on this day.   (please stay tuned for the date)

May 16^th- Required after school dress rehearsal for all choir members in the forum. The press will be invited and students are reminded that rehearsal will start promptly at 3:15pm. Students who cannot attend need to fill out a reason for absence form.

The concert will be performed in the EVHS forum at 7pm. Awards and letters will be given out at the end of the concert.

The concert admission will be by donation.

A suggested $3 donation will be appreciated.

Seniors- We need baby pictures, please e-mail Mrs. R one or 2 of your favorite baby pictures or bring them in. I will scan them and give them back to you. Baby pictures need to be brought or e-mailed to Mrs. R by Friday, May 4^th.

May 30^th- Required after school rehearsal for all choir members till 4:15pm for graduation.

 June 1^st- Graduation- all choir students expected to attend

Be in the choir room by 5:15pm.

Students will need to pick up a parking or drop off pass from Mrs. R. More info to come.

Letters Logues due May 1st

Letter logues are due by Tuesday May 1st.  Please see list below. 

Choral Letter and Awards

1.Students must Maintain and “A” average for the year in choir

1.      Students must attend all required concerts and rehearsals , except in the case of an excused absence

2.      Students must have a minimum of 250 points accumulated by May 1^st, 2012.  (50 points must be service points and 100 points must be performance points)

Service Points

5 points each hour- help with any activity in choir or with the Boosters (carwash, etc.)

2 points per item- brought to a bake sale

5 points each hour- helping teacher in the classroom, community concerns

Performance Points

5 points – for each major concert performed in

5 points- non choral performance (bring in program of performance and note from a parent, show at Riverside)

10  points-  district choir, ACDA, VMEA, ALL State for performing in these events

5 points- tryout for any choir competition

5 points- perform in festival

Other Points

 5 points- attending another school drama or choir production (must have signature of that director and the program for the show)

5 points- participation in choir fundraiser

5 points- parents attend Booster Meetings

5 points- all after school rehearsals

5 points- attending professional performances- bring program

Awards-

1^st year- treble clef pin

2^nd year- Letter

3^rd year- lyre pin

4^th year- star pin

****Students are required to keep a point logue and record of all points and programs.  Point sheets can be found in the choir room.

Tissues

The choir room is in desperate need of tissues.  Two points will be given to every box of tissues brought in for their choir letter.

Show Choir Meeting

This is an important informational meeting for all students and parents/guardians of students who are taking Competition Show choir and Technique Show Choir.  All students are required to have one parent/guardian attend.  If your parent or guardian cannot make the meeting, please e-mail Mrs. R at trichtar@culpeperschools.org.

Plant Sale due tomorrow..

The plant sale money and order forms are due to the choir room tomorrow.

A cappella Concert tonight

@7pm in the EVHS Auditorium
Tickets are $3 at the door..
Performing students are reminded to be in the choir room at 6:15pm.
Students who are helping with certain jobs are asked to be here at 6:30pm.

Culpeper Choral Booster Flowering plant and Herb sale..

The Culpeper Choral Boosters will be selling Petunias, geraniums, superbells, cilantro, parsley, and basil.  All EVHS choir students will be given a plant brochure tomorrow during classes.  All orders will need to be in the choir room by Friday, April 13th.  All plants will need to be picked up on Thursday, April 19th between 3 and 6pm in the EVHS parking lot right outside the auditorium.   All checks need to be written to the Culpeper Choral Boosters.  All proceeds will benefit the CCB general fund.

Volunteers needed- Eastern View High School needs 2 parents that are willing to help pass out plants from 3pm to 6pm .  Please e-mail Mrs. R if you can help. Thanks so much for your help.

Sodas and Water

The choir continues to sell soda and water and a continuious basis in the choir room to help pay all choir expenses.  We are currently raising money to finish this year and start buying music for next year.  Parents and students are asked to donate either cans or bottles of soda and water to help with costs.  Students will be given one point for each can or bottle they bring in the choir room toward their letter.

Culpeper Choral Boosters Scholarship

The Culpeper Choral Boosters are offering a $250 scholarship to a senior that is planning to major or minor in music at at 4 year school.  Applications for the Scholarship can be found in the choir room.  All applications are due to the choir room by April 15th.  Please see Mrs. R for more details.

A cappella Concert

April 12th featuring Aftermath, Velocity, Pride of Cecilia, and Voices of Men
Plus featured guests, The Overtones from James Madison University..
at 7pm in the EVHS auditoriun

All Choir students are expected to attend.  All Choir students will be given a ticket to get into the event free.
The event costs $3 at the door.
