Show Choir - Retired Teachers May 5th field trip info

Retired Teachers
Dear Parents or Guardians,
The EVHS Show Choir Innovation students have an amazing opportunity to perform for the Retired Teachers Association on Tuesday, May 5th at Peppers Grill at the Best Western in Culpeper, VA .  All of the choir students have been rehearsing for this competition during class time.  Students are expected to practice singing and dances at home daily.  Students who do not know their music and dances will not be able to attend this trip.   
Show Choir students will eat on 1st lunch and be expected to meet in the EVHS choir room at 11:45 pm  in order to have all costumes/ outfits ready for competition.  We will leave EVHS at 12:45pm and return around 1:45 pm. All students will need to turn in a permission form and have a medical and contract form on file in order to attend this trip.  Students will need to wear the appropriate attire as listed below for this competition. Students who do not have the proper attire will not attend the field trip.. 
Show Choir Attire:
Girls- Black Silver Sparkle dress, Tights, Silver Shoes, Silver Spanx,  2nd saloon outfit, Make-up, Earrings
Boys- black pants, White Shirt, Black Shoes, Black Socks, Pink Tie, Silver vest, Cowboy hat
Chaperones- I will need at least two chaperones for this trip.  All chaperones must be approved by the Culpeper School Board.  If you are not on the approved list and are interested in chaperoning, please email me for a form.  Please email me at trichtar@culpeperschools.org if you are interested in chaperoning these events.
While there are no further plans to stop on the way to or from our destination, the bus could stop if an emergency or student need occurs.  
Behavior and Expectations- All Show Choir students are expected to behave in accordance with the Culpeper County School Board Code of Conduct and the EVHS Choir Field Trip Policy found on the EVHS Choir Blog at www.evhschoir.blogspot.org.  Students are expected to be respectful and compliant to everyone, especially chaperones and teachers attending the trip.  Students who defy any of the policies mentioned above will receive a referral and be banned from future choir field trips.

Culpeper Presbyterian Church 2015

Lent Service 2015
Dear Parents or Guardians,
The EVHS Artistic Choir students have an amazing opportunity to perform at the Culpeper Pressbyterian Church for Lent Service on Wednesday, March 11th in Culpeper, VA .  The choir students have been rehearsing for this competition during class time and at after school rehearsal.  Students are expected to practice singing at home daily.    
Students will be performing during their class period.  Students will need to report to the choir room at 11:00am and change into their performance outfits. We will leave school at 11:30pm and return around 1pm.  Lunch will be provided at the Presbyterian Church.  When we return students will go directly to 4th block.
The attire will be as follows:    
Artistic – Black  Dress, Tights,  Choir Black shoes
Boys- school appropriate attire   
There is no cost of this event.  While there are no further plans to stop on the way to or from our destination, the bus could stop if an emergency or student need occurs.

Announcements- please read...

Announcements for week of Feb. 18th
·   
     1.  Eastern View High School will be hosting All County Elementary Choir on Friday, March 27th from 12:30 to 4 and Saturday, March 28th from 7:30am to 6.  I will need three students who could help run things on both days. Extra credit and choir points for letters will be awarded for helping with this event. Please see Mrs. R if you can help.

    2. Seniors who would like to apply for a Fine Arts Chord for Graduation, please see Mrs. R for an application.  Applications and $3.50 is due to Mrs. R on May 1st.

3. 3. Mrs. R needs senior baby pictures for the spring concert.  Please bring in or email  Mrs. R a picture by Friday, May 1st.

4. 4.  Chaperones needed:
1.       Kings Dominion- May 15th- $35 for parents without season passes
2.       Culpeper Presberyterian Church – Artistic Choir -11:30 to 1:45 on March 11th
3.       Festival- TBD- Date will be March 13th or March 20th Time TBA
4.       Manchester Show Choir Competition- I need 4 chaperones for this event.  We will leave school at 1pm and return around 11:30pm.  Please email me if you are able to help with this event. We have very limited seating so parents may drive behind the bus too. Please email me if you have a truck we can use to help take down the set of the show.

5. 5.   Due to our snow days the show choir will have rehearsal after school on Wednesday, February 25th till 4:30pm, Wednesday, March 4th till 4:30pm and on Thursday, March 5th till 4:30pm.  This is for the band and choir. 

Kings Dominion Information May 15th..

Dear Parents or Guardians,
The EVHS Show Choir: Innovation, Men’s A cappella and Artistic Choir students have an amazing opportunity to perform and compete at the annual Kings Dominion Festival Days on Friday, May 15, 2014 at Kings Dominion in Doswell, VA.  All of the choir students have been rehearsing for this competition during class time and at before and after school rehearsals.  Students are expected to practice singing and dancing at home daily.  Students who do not know their music and dances will not be able to attend this trip. 
All students will be expected to check in the EVHS choir room by 7:15am in order to have all costumes/outfits ready for competition.  We will leave EVHS at 7:45am and return around 8pm. Kings Dominion will be closing at 6pm on May 15th.  Students will be prompted to call their rides when we are 30 minutes outside of Culpeper.  Please be on time to pick your student up from EVHS.  All students will need to turn in a permission form and have a medical and contract form on file in order to attend this trip.  All choir fees must be paid in order to attend this trip. Students will need to wear their choir t-shirt and jean shorts (school appropriate length) for this competition. Students who do not have the proper attire will not attend the field trip. Students will be prompted to meet Mrs. R with their chaperones at 10 am right outside the action theater in the old Virginia area to get ready for the performance.  After we have performed, students will get to spend the rest of the time in the park. Further check in times and instructions will be given out when the date of the field trip is closer.   
Chaperones - I will need at least twelve chaperones for this competition.  All chaperones must be approved by the Culpeper School Board.  If you are not on the approved list and are interested in chaperoning, please email me for a form.  Please email me at trichtar@culpeperschools.org if you are interested in chaperoning these events.
The cost of this event is $75 for all students and $35 for parents and chaperones without season passes.  Students who have season passes need to only pay $40 for the trip. This price includes charter bus transportation. All money is due to the choir office no later than Tuesday, April 14th, 2015. Students may use money fundraised on their choir accounts to pay for this trip.
Students will need to bring money with them in order to purchase a meal to eat in the park.  We will stop at a fast food establishment on the way to Kings Dominion in order for students to eat.  Students may also want to purchase souvenirs while at Kings Dominion. Please keep this in mind when getting ready for the trip.  While there are no further plans to stop on the way to or from our destination, the bus could stop if an emergency or student need occurs.

VA Opera Visit

VA Opera Visit
The Virginia Opera will be visiting EVHS on Thursday, Feb. 12th at 1pm.  Selected Fine Arts students have the opportunity to take in the performance “Encore” followed by a short master class.  The performance and class will run around an hour.  Students will be asked to be released to the auditorium at 12:50pm.  We will release students to 4th block at the conclusion of the show.

Reminders about All District Choir…
-        Friday
-dress code appropriate school clothing
-bring water bottle, folder, and pencil
-check in with first block, report to choir room, we leave at 8:00am
-pack a lunch
- we will arrive home around 7:30pm
-      Saturday
       -meet at EVHS at 7:15am
-dress for Saturday is black and white, you will not have time to change before the concert
       -bring folder, water bottle, and pencils
       - pack a lunch
       - concert is at 3pm at Monticello High School
-if your parent picks you up, please make sure they sign you out with Mrs. R
       -We will return to EVHS around 6:30pm
