Here is what is happening this week! It is another busy one! Please read these announcements. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, and chaperoned for the concert and Kings Dominion. I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday break! We will see you in 2024! Festival Season, here we come! 

Field Trip Teacher Sign off forms 

I am missing several of these. Please turn this into the choir room tomorrow morning 1st thing. Students are reminded to make sure you check in with first block and report directly to the choir room. Do not wait till after morning announcements. Students need to be wearing holiday school appropriate sweaters or sweatshirts. 

Students who will not be attending the elementary school field trips are asked to send Mrs. R an email first thing in the morning. 

Category 5 meeting on Monday, December 18th from 2:30pm to 3pm

Category 5 members are reminded to meet on December 18th from 2:30pm to 3pm in the choir room to discuss Festival Music.

These concerts are required and are a grade. Students who need to test or are missing class work will not be able to attend and will need to make up the grade. Permission slips will be sent home soon.

I will need parent volunteers for these field trips to help chaperone and donate water. Chaperones need to be on the CCPS Approval list. Please sign up if you are able to help.

Holiday In School Concert: 

The 2nd and 3rd block choirs will be performing a Holiday in school concert on Thursday , December 21st at 8am. Students are expected to wear school appropriate holiday attire and jeans for this concert. This is required and a grade. Students who are not there must complete the Reason for Absence form and make up the grade either in class or virtually.  I could use a parent volunteer for supervision help at this concert. *All District Choir 

The paperwork for All District Choir will go home this week and the first week of December. Students need to turn in their permission slip and their $55 fee (checks written to EVHS) by Thursday, December 21st. This may be paid online with credit card. The music will be distributed as soon as it arrives. Students are responsible for knowing their music before attending the event on Feb. 9th and 10th at Fluvanna High School. . Students are encouraged to Fundraise to help deter costs if needed. 

Credit Card Payments Online: 

Paying for school items just got easier! Eastern View High School is now accepting online credit card payments through SchoolCash Online. You can register, add students, and start paying online today at  https://culpeperschoolsva.schoolcashonline.com/

*World’s Finest Chocolate: 

Choir students will have the opportunity to take part in the World’s Finest Chocolate Fundraiser. Parents must sign a permission form. Students will then sign out boxes and be responsible for selling all 60 bars in the box. Profit from the box will be placed in their charms accounts which may be used towards choir fees and field trips. Please email Mrs. R with any questions. 

Lions Club Bland Contest 

The Annual Lions Club Bland Contest will take place on Feb. 24th at 1pm at the Culpeper United Methodist Church at 1233 Oaklawn Dr. Students will need to prepare a composition to perform and compete for scholarships. Please see Mrs. R for an application.

Winter Plan 

Please check out the EVHS Choir Winter Plan for our performances. Students need to make sure that they know all pieces being performed at these events. 

 *December 11th  Men's AC to perform at  the School Board Meeting:

Please save the date. Men's A cappella will be performing at the CCPS School Board meeting. This will take place at 302 N. Main Street (parking is in the back). Students need to arrive at 5:30pm. Students need to wear a button down black dress shirt and black dress pants and shoes. 


*Dec.12th, 2023- Mandatory After School Rehearsal for Troubadours and Men’s Ac til 4:30pm 

There will be a mandatory after school rehearsal for Men’s A cappella and Troubadours on Tuesday, December 12th till 4:30pm in the auditorium. Students who cannot attend this after school rehearsal are reminded to fill out the Reason for Absence Form as soon as possible. Rides are asked to be at EVHS promptly at 4:30pm. 


December 14th- PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for the concert.

*December 14th- Booster Meeting: 

There will be a quick Booster meeting held at 5:30pm in the auditorium before the concert. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. 


*December 14th- Winter Concert at 6pm 

The EVHS Winter Concert will take place on Thursday, December 14th at 6pm. Students need to be in formal concert attire (black choir dresses for women, black pants and black button down shirts for men with provided holiday bow ties). Students need to be at school at 5pm. This concert is mandatory for all choir students to attend. Students who cannot attend for any reason need to fill out the Reason for Absence Form  and will have to make up the concert in class. Parents, a Booster meeting will be held in the auditorium prior to the concert. We encourage all parents and choir supporters  to attend. The concert is free. We will need parents to volunteer for this concert. Please sign up here if you are willing to help run concessions, 50/50, supervise, or donate water and baked goods. Our school code is EVHSChoir. 

Outfit: Formal Attire 

Women- Black Choir Dress, Black Dress Shoes 

Men- Black Tux- Black Jacket (troubadours only), Black Dress Pants, Black Button Down Shirt, Black Bow Tie, Black Dress Shoes

*December 15th- Kings Dominion Winterfest Field Trip 

The EVHS Choir has the opportunity to sing at Winterfest on Friday, December 15th. Students are wearing Holiday school appropriate sweaters and winter layers. Students are to meet in the choir room at 1:45pm. We will leave school around 2:15pm. Students are reminded to bring money for stopping at a fast food restaurant to eat before we get to Kings Dominion.

*EVHS Choral Booster Membership: 

EVHS Choral Booster Membership- Parents may sign up to volunteer with our Amazing EVHS Choral Boosters. You do not have to pay a fee to join choral boosters. This is a change from our first executive meeting in November 2021 and change to the bylaws. The following special memberships will stay in place. 

If you would like to purchase one of these memberships, please fill out the following form .

*Charms Information:

Charms- Every student will be given a charms account. Charms may be accessed at www.charmsoffice.com. Our school code is EVHSChoir which is case sensitive. The direct link to charms is https://www.charmsoffice.com/charms/parents.asp?username=EVHSChoir. Students are able to see their choir financial accounts, sign forms, see uniform numbers, volunteer, purchase certain items and more. 

This is how you log in to charms.... 

  • Log on to www.charmsoffice.com, and click “ENTER / LOG IN” in the upper right corner.

  • Locate the “PARENT/STUDENT/MEMBERS LOGIN” section of the web page.

  • Login to your student’s program account using the following School Code:

  • This will bring up the main “Public” page.  This will allow you to look at the “public” calendar for your organization, event list, and handouts and other “publicly shared” files, as well as a few other options.

  • Whenever you enter using this Username/password, another more detailed screen appears, with various button options for you to access areas in the Charms account.  What appears here is partially up to the Account Administrator or Head Director.

  • Two areas in which you can help the director/administrator maintain his/her records:

    • Update Personal Information – if the director has allowed it, you  may help make changes to your and your child’s student information page (such as updating phone numbers / cell carriers and email addresses if they change) to help them communicate with you more effectively. You may also be able to indicate which parent volunteer/resource groups you would like to participate in, if this feature is activated. Click Update Info to save changes. 

    • If your program has set up online credit card payments, you can make credit card payments for items in the online store.

  • The Calendar may list events, rehearsals, and volunteer/RSVP opportunities. Click on calendar, find the date of the event, click on the hand and sign up to donate items or volunteer. 

  • Most importantly, the parent page assists both you and the teacher to communicate with each other.  Stay up to date on what’s going on with your student!

  • You can also download the Charms App to your smartphone – search your App Store for “Charms Parent/Student Portal” (or “Charms Blue”).  It’s the way to stay in touch on the go!  

  • If you or your student is unable to access charms or forgets their password, please send Mrs. R an email and a new link will be sent to you.

Winter Plan

*Mandatory Cat. 5 rehearsal on Monday, December 4th and Wednesday, December 6th till 4pm

This practice is mandatory for all members.

*Tenor and Bass Rehearsal Tuesday the 8th till 3:30pm 

There will be a Tenor Rehearsal on Tuesday, Nov. 28th till 3:30pm

*December 7th- The Executive Mansion for Cat 5 : 

The Category 5 choir has been invited to sing at the Virginia State Capitol and Executive Mansion in Richmond, VA. We will leave around 2:15 pm and return around 10pm to EVHS. A letter and permission slip will be sent home with students and will be  posted on Google Classroom. Students need to bring water, music, money or a packed dinner for the trip down and snacks/water for the trip back.  Students are to wear their formal attire with winter modifications (stated in letter) for this trip. Please contact Mrs. R with any questions.
