Dear Parents or Guardians,
The EVHS Show Choir: Innovation, Men’s A cappella and
Artistic Choir students have an amazing opportunity to perform and compete at
the annual Kings Dominion Festival Days on Friday, May 15, 2014 at
Kings Dominion in Doswell, VA. All of
the choir students have been rehearsing for this competition during class time
and at before and after school rehearsals.
Students are expected to practice singing and dancing at home
daily. Students who do not know their
music and dances will not be able to attend this trip.
All students will be expected to check in the EVHS choir room
by 7:15am in order to have all costumes/outfits ready for competition. We will leave EVHS at 7:45am and return
around 8pm. Kings Dominion will be closing at 6pm on May 15th. Students will be prompted to call their rides
when we are 30 minutes outside of Culpeper.
Please be on time to pick your student up from EVHS. All students will need to turn in a permission
form and have a medical and contract form on file in order to attend this trip.
All choir fees must be paid in order to
attend this trip. Students will need to wear their choir t-shirt and jean
shorts (school appropriate length) for this competition. Students who do not
have the proper attire will not attend the field trip. Students will be
prompted to meet Mrs. R with their chaperones at 10 am right outside the action
theater in the old Virginia area to get ready for the performance. After we have performed, students will get to
spend the rest of the time in the park. Further check in times and instructions
will be given out when the date of the field trip is closer.
Chaperones - I will
need at least twelve chaperones for this competition. All chaperones must be approved by the
Culpeper School Board. If you are not on
the approved list and are interested in chaperoning, please email me for a
form. Please email me at trichtar@culpeperschools.org if
you are interested in chaperoning these events.
The cost of this event is $75 for all students and $35 for parents
and chaperones without season passes.
Students who have season passes need to only pay $40 for the trip. This
price includes charter bus transportation. All money is due to the choir office
no later than Tuesday, April 14th, 2015. Students may use money
fundraised on their choir accounts to pay for this trip.
Students will need to bring money with them in order to
purchase a meal to eat in the park. We
will stop at a fast food establishment on the way to Kings Dominion in order
for students to eat. Students may also
want to purchase souvenirs while at Kings Dominion. Please keep this in mind
when getting ready for the trip. While there are no further plans to
stop on the way to or from our destination, the bus could stop if an emergency
or student need occurs.
Behavior and
Expectations - All choir students are expected to behave in accordance
with the Culpeper County School Board Code of Conduct and the EVHS Choir Field
Trip Policy found on the EVHS Choir Blog at www.evhschoir.blogspot.org. Students are expected to be respectful and
compliant to everyone, especially chaperones and teachers attending the trip. Students who defy any of the policies
mentioned above will receive a referral and be banned from future choir field
trips.
Thank you for your attention to the above details. I am excited for this opportunity and know
that your student will have a memorable experience. Please do not hesitate to email me if you
have any questions.
