All District Festival Information- Artistic/A cappella

District 13 Festival Assessment

Dear Parents or Guardians,

The EVHS Women’s A cappella, Men’s A cappella, and Artistic Choir students have an amazing opportunity to perform at the All District 13 Choral Assessment on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Orange County High School.  All of the choir students have been rehearsing for this competition during class time and at after school rehearsal.  Students are expected to practice singing at home daily.  Students who do not know their music will not be able to attend this trip.

All students will be expected to check in with first block teachers and meet in the EVHS choir room at 8:15pm on March 21st in order to have all outfits ready for performing.  We will leave EVHS at 8:15am  and return around 1:00pm. Students will be prompted to call their rides when we are 30 minutes outside of Culpeper.  Please be on time to pick your student up from EVHS.  All students will need to turn in a permission form and have a medical and contract form on file in order to attend this trip.  Students will need to wear the appropriate attire as listed below for this competition. Students who do not have the proper attire will not attend the field trip.

Women’s and Men’s A cappella - Black Dress, Nude Hose, Colored Shoe (at least a small heel), Black Tuxes, White Shirt, Light Blue Tie, Black Socks, Black Dress Shoes

Artistic - Blue Dress, Tights, Silver Shoes

Chaperones - I will need at least four chaperones for this event.  All chaperones must be approved by the Culpeper School Board.  If you are not on the approved list and are interested in chaperoning, please email me for a form.  Please email me at trichtar@culpeperschools.org if you are interested in chaperoning this event.

Students will need to bring money with them in order to purchase a meal at a fast food restaurant. While there are no further plans to stop on the way to or from our destination, the bus could stop if an emergency or student need occurs.

Behavior and Expectations - All Choir students are expected to behave in accordance with the Culpeper County School Board Code of Conduct and the EVHS Choir Field Trip Policy found on the EVHS Choir Blog at www.evhschoir.blogspot.org.  Students are expected to be respectful and compliant to everyone, especially chaperones and teachers attending the trip.  Students who defy any of the policies mentioned above will receive a referral and be banned from future choir field trips.

Thank you for your attention to the above details.  I am excited for this opportunity and know that your student will have a memorable experience.  Please do not hesitate to email me if you have any questions.
