Powhatan Information Letter

Powhatan Show Choir Classic

Dear Parents or Guardians,

The EVHS Show Choir Innovation students have an amazing opportunity to perform and compete at the annual Powhatan Show Choir Classic on Feb. 22n .  All of the choir students have been rehearsing for this competition during class time and at after school rehearsal .  Students are expected to practice singing and dances at home daily.  Students who do not know their music and dances will not be able to attend this trip.

Show Choir students will be expected to meet in the EVHS choir room at 9.30 am  in order to have all costumes/ outfits ready for competition.  We will leave EVHS at 11:30am and return around 1am. Students will be prompted to call their rides when we are 30 minutes outside of Culpeper.  Please be on time to pick your student up from EVHS.  All students will need to turn in a permission form and have a medical and contract form on file in order to attend this trip.  Students will need to wear the appropriate attire as listed below for this competition. Students who do not have the proper attire will not attend the field trip. After we have performed students will be able to change into school appropriate clothing and watch the rest of the show.

Show Choir Attire:

Girs- Purple Sparkle Dress, Tights, Silver Shoes, Silver Spanx, Yellow Dress or Green Dress, Polk a Dot Spanx, Make-up, Earrings

Boys- Grey Suit, White Shirt, Black Shoes, Black Socks, Purple Tie, Army Suit, Army Hat, Belt, Buckle

Chaperones- I will need at least four chaperones for this competition.  All chaperones must be approved by the Culpeper School Board.  If you are not on the approved list and are interested in chaperoning, please email me for a form.  Please email me at trichtar@culpeperschools.org if you are interested chaperoning these events.

Students will need to bring money with them in order to purchase a meal to eat.  We will stop at a fast food establishment on the way to Powhatan in order for students to eat.  Students may also want to purchase food while we are at Powhatan.  Powhatan will have t-shirts and videos for sale.  Please keep this in mind when getting ready for the trip.  While there are no further plans to stop on the way to or from our destination, the bus could stop if an emergency or student need occurs.

Behavior and Expectations- All Show Choir students are expected to behave in accordance with the Culpeper County School Board Code of Conduct and the EVHS Choir Field Trip Policy found on the EVHS Choir Blog at www.evhschoir.blogspot.org.  Students are expected to be respectful and compliant to everyone, especially chaperones and teachers attending the trip.  Students who defy any of the policies mentioned above will receive a referral and be banned from future choir field trips.

Thank you for your attention to the above details.  I am excited for this opportunity and know that your student will have a memorable experience.  Please do not hesitate to email me if you have any questions.
