Choir Awards will be
awarded during class and at the annual Spring Concert.
Choir Letters-
The information for Choir letters is found in your Choir Handbook. Point sheets need to be turned into Mrs. R no
later than May 1, 2014.. Students will
receive this award in class.
Inner Choir Awards- (finances permitting) Students will vote for awards during class
time.
The inner choir awards are
fun awards that a the students will get to vote on within their classes. These awards include Best Soprano, Best
Dressed, etc.
National High School Choral Award- This award will be presented to the top overall
senior in the choir program. Criteria
will be based on Choral participation(must have been in choir for 4 years and
participated in choir auditions, Service,
Academics(must have maintained an A average in choir), Attitude (maintained a positive attitude
towards the choir and choral activities), Ability to go above and beyond for
the Choir program!!
Culpeper County Choral Senior Service- This award will be presented to the top senior who
has served the choir over their 4 years.
This senior is always willing to help in any way possible and keeps a
positive attitude towards the choral program.
Culpeper County Choral Booster’s Scholarship Awards (depends on funding)- The Scholarship Awards
guidelines will be distributed by the Choral Boosters. The guidelines will be
distributed in February of that year and due by May 1.
Culpeper County Choral Senior Achievement Award.- This award will go to the senior who has
achieved many goals during their 4 years in choir and has become a positive
rolemodel to their fellow students. (All
District Choir, ACDA, etc.)
Choral Academic Award – This award will go to the senior who has maintained
the highest grade point average during their 4 years in choir and has kept a
positive attitude towards the choral program.
Choral Letter and Awards
1.Students
must Maintain and “A” average for the year in choir
1.
Students must
attend all required concerts and rehearsals , except in the case of an excused
absence
2.
Students must
have a minimum of 250 points accumulated by May 1st, 2013. (50 points must be service points and 100
points must be performance points)
Service Points
5 points each hour- help with any activity in choir or
with the Boosters (carwash, etc.)
2 points per item- brought to a bake sale
5 points each hour- helping teacher in the classroom,
community concerns
5 points – for each major concert performed in
5 points- non choral performance (bring in program of
performance and note from a parent, show at Riverside)
10 points- district choir, ACDA, VMEA, ALL State for
performing in these events
5 points- tryout for any choir competition
5 points- perform in festival
Other Points
5 points-
attending another school drama or choir production (must have signature of that
director and the program for the show)
5 points- participation in choir fundraiser
5 points- parents attend Booster Meetings
5 points- all after school rehearsals
5 points- attending professional performances- bring
program
Awards-
1st year- treble clef pin
2nd year- Letter
3rd year- lyre pin
4th year- star pin
****Students are required to keep a point logue and
record of all points and programs. Point
sheets can be found in the choir room.
