Student Leaders in the Choral Program
The Choir Program is very
big and distinct. There is much to do to
keep this program running successfully.
The Choral Director needs help and will rely on the following student
leaders. Student leadership is an honorable
role that requires students with high responsible qualities. All of the following leaders will be chosen
due to their qualifications in responsibility, team work, attitude, and work
ethic. All of the following roles are
appointed by the choir director. Students who take on these roles will be held
to a high standard by their fellow students and the choir director. Failure to execute their duties and roles
correctly and in a timely manner will result in removal by the choir director. All
student leaders listed below will be required to attend meeting on club
day. Failure to not attend meetings without
notice to the choir director will result in the removal from the student
leadership role. These student roles are put in place to help the choir
director make the choral program the best it can be!!
Choir President- President
over all Choirs
Duties-
1.
Preside over all
choir meetings. Direct discussions/Call for motion/ Follow the Robert’s Rule of
Order
2.
Attend all Choir
Executive Board Meetings on Club Day
3.
Help the choral
director in what is needed
4.
Year end- Review
Choir handbook with choral director and help update
5.
Attend all Choral
Booster Meetings
Choir Vice President-
Duties-
1.
Preside over all
choir meeting in the absence of the president
2.
Attend all Choir
Executive Board Meetings on Club Day
3.
Help the choral
director in what is needed
4.
Attend all Choral
Booster Meetings
Choir Secretary and Treasurer (COM, Choir Office
Manager)
Duties
1.Attend all Choir meetings
2.Keep a record/ minutes of all
choir meetings and Choir Executive Board meetings on Club Day
3.Keep a record of Folder and
Music Assignments with the Choral Director
4.Help the Choral Director in
what is needed
5.Keep a Choir Calendar for all
choirs
6.Communicate with all the choir
representatives to keep events in the calendar
7.File, sort papers, keep candy
cart filled etc.
8.Sort mail into mailboxes on a
daily bases
Historian/ Web master –
1.Responsible for maintaining a
historic record of the events of the choir
2. Responsible for creating and
maintaining the pages to be loaded on the internet. Events and Calendars must be posted.
3.Maintaining a the EVHS Choir
Scrapbook, one page for each choir of
the EVHS Choir Scrap book must be completed to represent the best moments for
the year. The Page must be completed by
the Spring Concert.
4.Maintain the Choir Display
case by the auditorium
5.Attend monthly Choir Executive
board meeting
Choir Librarian- (appointed by the choral director)
Duties
1. Responsible for handing out
and collecting all used music
2. Catalogue, restock, stamp
music, organize, and clean the library
3. Required to spend time with
the choral director during the summer to organize music for the upcoming school
year
4. Required to meet with the
choral director after each concert to keep music neat and in order, After
School time may be required.
Fundraising Chair (Soda Manager)(appointed by the choir
director)-
Duties
1.Responsible for organizing and
keeping track of all fundraising that involves the choir.
2.Responsible for collaborating
with the EVHS Choral Executive Board to brainstorm ideas to keep the choir
financially sound.
3. Responsible for selling
soda/candy during AM time on Thursdays and Fridays, and counting the stock
daily, (must wear ID tag provided by the choral director).
4.Expected to attend monthly

Uniform Manager
There will be
one Uniform Manager for Show Choir and one for all of the other choirs. The
Uniform manager will be responsible for care and keep of the choir outfits,
shoes, and accessories. The UM will be
responsible for keeping a record and assigning outfits to choir students. The UM will hand out and collect choir
outfits for every performance. The UM
will collect outfits , get outfits ready for dry cleaning, and present choral
director with a report on missing items by June 1st of the school
year. The UM will be required to label
and organize the entire outfit closet.
The UM will be required to meet with the choral director during the
summer in order to organize closet for the upcoming school year. Failure to
execute duties will result in removal by the choral director.
Choir Representative (One from Each Choir)
Duties
1.Attend All Choir Executive
Board Meeting
2.Inform their choir of all
choir information
3. Act as a liaison between the
Choir Executive Board and their choir
Individual Choir leadership Roles
Show Choir (These leadership roles will be appointed by
the choir director)
Music Captain- The MC will be responsible for working
directly with the choral director and choreographer to select repertoire in the
summer. The music director will help the
choral director teach musical parts, as needed. The MC will support the DC. The
MC will be a help to the choral director. The MC will be required to attend
monthly executive board meetings and show choir meetings during the school
year. Failure to execute duties will result in removal by the choral director.
Dance Captain- The DC will be responsible for working
directly with the choreographer on choreographing musical selections. The DC
will be responsible for making sure all classmates understand the choreography. The DC will support the MC. The DC will be a help to the Choral Director.
The DC will be required to attend monthly executive board meetings and show
choir meetings during the school year. Failure to execute duties will result in
removal by the choral director.
A cappella
Business Manager- The Business manager will be in
charge of booking all performances. The
BM will act as a liaison between the choral director and the community. The BM will be responsible for generating publicity
and advertising for all performances and events. The BM will be required to
obtain permission from the choral director before booking an event. The BM will be a help to the choral director.
The BM will be expected to attend monthly executive board meetings as well as
monthly a cappella meetings. Failure to
execute duties will result in removal by the choral director.
Section Leaders- The Section Leader will be in charge
of assisting the choral director in teaching parts and running sectionals. The Section Leaders will act as a liaison
between their section and the choir director.
Section leaders are encouraged to bring their ideas or choice of
repertoire to the choir director. The
choir director and section leaders will converse together about the repertoire
however the choir director has final say in the choice of repertoire. They may
also be asked to conduct and arrange songs for the choir at times. Section leaders are responsible for making
sure their section puts their folders away properly. Failure to execute duties will result in
removal by the choral director.
